The Finest
Playgrounds Known to Children
Over one million children play on our
playgrounds every day. We are grateful for
the opportunities we have to touch so many
children’s lives in safe, supportive, and
joyous ways. We know that an artificially
planned play structure on a restricted city
lot is only a substitute for the original
playscape of the town, the fields, and the
countryside where occasions for incidental
exploration, in the midst of adult
enterprise, made play part of life that was
going on all the time.
In our pursuit of giving children as many
experiences and possibilities for natural
exploration as possible we try to design our
playgrounds so that even the planned
environment will provide sufficient
challenge and space in which to grow.
Children are entitled to spaces in which
they can -without the pressure of
performance and outside judgment – acquire
physical, social, emotional and intellectual
skills, which are the basis for the
development of sound relationships and
attitudes towards life.
Playgrounds require the interaction between
adults and children as well as the
supervision, ingenuity and responsiveness of
caring adults. We believe that a playground
fulfills it’s mission best when it becomes a
catalyst for group cohesion, for a community
to get to know itself as it addresses the
needs of its families and children.
